President Donald Trump revealed the origins of his nickname for Abdul El-Sayed, ahead of the midterms.
A clip being circulated on X shows the president cracking up his audience by revealing that he calls El-Sayed “Mohammad” while talking about the “radical left communists” who “want to abolish Columbus Day.”

“You know this guy, I call him ‘Mohammad’ [El-Sayed]. Some people call him Abdul, I call him Mohammed. Somebody said, ‘Why?’ I said, I don’t know. I feel like it,” Trump quipped.
This is not his first time using this nickname for the Democratic Senate candidate from Michigan. In a Truth Social post from early Friday, he celebrated Mike Rogers’ debate performance against El-Sayed.

On Wednesday, he used it again in a post calling El-Sayed “a terrible candidate” for Democrats.
