But a tough campaign ahead.

Mitt Romneys campaign is making great headway, closing with Barack Obama during this lovely month of May.

It is one thing when Rasmussens tracking poll puts Romney up by 2 points for May 11-14. Rasmussen is every Republicans favorite pollster. But what does it say when even the establishmentarian CBS News/New York Times poll puts Governor Romney up by 3 points? Moreover, the average of all polls to date give President Obama only a 1.6 percentage lead, according to RealClearPolitics.

This is substantial progress since the beginning of the month when the Associated Press/GfK poll gave Obama an 8-point edge, 50-42, for the May 3-7 time frame. This rapid shift in polling may account for the Obama campaigns nasty swerve toward negativity with an emphasis on class envy, disparagement of free markets, and vilification of successful people generally, including donors opposing the President.

And it is only going to get worse this election cycle. The Washington Examiner ran a story this week on training provided to the House Democratic Caucus "on how to inject the issue of race into nearly any political argument that takes place during the 2012 election season."

In an interview with THE WEEKLY STANDARD, Wolfe said the poll results were “unbelievable” and said a defeat for Obama in the Arkansas primary would be “politically cataclysmic.”

“It says the momentum is good,” Wolfe said about the poll. “This is democracy in action.

"Wolfe predicted that the voters would move his way in the final days before the May 22 primary, despite his shoestring campaign budget. “There’s not been a single TV ad. There’s not been a single radio ad,” he said.

Wolfe is also competing against Obama in Texas’s May 29 primary.

CNSNews.com – 324,000 women dropped out of the nation’s civilian labor force in March and April as the number of women not in the labor force hit an all-time historical high of 53,321,000, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The civilian labor force consists of all people in the United States 16 years or older who are not in the military, a prison, or another institution such as a nursing home or mental hospital and who either have a job or are unemployed but have actively sought work in the previous four weeks and are currently available to work.

The civilian labor force is a subset of what BLS calls the civilian noninstitutional population, which includes all people in the country 16 or older who are not in the military, a prison, or another institution such as a nursing home or mental hospital.

This year in both January and April, only 57.6 percent of the women in the civilian noninstitutional population were in the labor force. That is the lowest rate of labor force participation by American women since April 1993, according to historical data maintained by BLS.

The rate of female participation in the civilian workforce peaked twelve years ago–in April 2000–when hit 60.3 percent.

CHARLESTON, West Virginia – Just how unpopular is President Barack Obama in some parts of the country? Enough that a man in prison in Texas is getting 4 out of 10 votes in West Virginia’s Democratic presidential primary.

The inmate, Keith Judd, is serving time at the Beaumont Federal Correctional Institution in Texas for making threats at the University of New Mexico in 1999. With 93 percent of precincts reporting, Obama was receiving just under 60 percent of the vote to Judd’s 40 percent.

For some West Virginia Democrats, simply running against Obama is enough to get Judd votes.
“I voted against Obama,” said Ronnie Brown, a 43-year-old electrician from Cross Lanes who called himself a conservative Democrat. “I don’t like him. He didn’t carry the state before and I’m not going to let him carry it again.”

And that means big trouble for U.S. banks as well.

While much of the worlds attention was concentrated on Frances presidential election last Sunday, the real action was in Greece. French President-elect François Hollande may be promising 75 percent income tax rates and a renegotiation of the European Unions fiscal treaty, but it was the result of the Greek elections that will determine the future of Europe.

The irony is that Greece should never have been allowed into the euro in the first place. It did not meet the entrance criteria, but Eurocrats in Brussels turned a blind eye because they viewed the creation of a European identity as more important than financial stability. When the process began to unravel, a panicked EU, along with the International Monetary Fund, responded by throwing money at the problem, in exchange for a promise of austerity.

The result of the Greek elections was a resounding rejection of the coalition government — comprised of mainstream socialists and conservatives — that engineered an EU/IMF bailout. The Conservative New Democracy ND party, the junior party in the coalition, received the most support of any party, but only 20 percent of the total votes cast. The coalition socialist party, PASOK, placed third, behind a coalition of other leftist parties calling itself Syriza. The Independent Greeks, a pro-Russian, anti-Turk conservative group led by a former ND legislator placed fourth, with the Communist KKE in fifth, the neo-fascist Golden Dawn sixth, and yet another leftist block seventh. No other parties achieved enough support to gain representation in parliament. Fully 66 percent of votes cast were for anti-bailout, anti-austerity parties.

The Obama administration attempts to bully the Court with a brazen lie about Medicare.

Last month, having watched in frustration as his Solicitor General got his clock cleaned during the Supreme Courts Obamacare hearings, the President made matters worse by publicly braying about how "unprecedented" it would be for an "unelected group of people" to overturn a law passed by a "strong majority" in Congress. This idiotic assertion provoked a tsunami of scorn from constitutional experts of all stripes, and angered the judges of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals so much that they humiliated the lawyers of the Justice Department by giving them a homework assignment on judicial review. If, however, you thought that embarrassing episode was enough to stop the Obama administration from trying to bully the Court, you were mistaken.

In a new attempt to influence the justices as they deliberate over the ultimate fate of Obamacare, the White House has told them that striking down the "reform" law would wreck the Medicare program: "Medicares payment system… could freeze if President Barack Obamas health care law is summarily overturned, the administration quietly informed the courts." This bizarre claim is, according to former CMS administrator Thomas A. Scully, nonsense: "If you look at the way the law was financed, it was a combination of higher taxes and lower Medicare payments. Thats what you would be rolling back." In other words, by striking down the law, the Court would forestall $500 billion in Medicare cuts called for by Obamacare as well as deep slashes in Medicare Advantage.

Even though my college major was political science, that is, government, and
I nearly became a lawyer, Lyndon Johnson had the only job in government that
I was interested in, so I went into the insurance and financial planning
field. My only involvement in government or politics for the next 40 years
was just voting, and frankly, not that often in Primary Elections. But in
2008 everything changed for me.

Like so many Americans, I was part of the so called “Sleeping Giant,” and I
woke up with a start and realized that the country that I had grown up in
was gone, that professional politicians had hijacked my America, and I
needed to do my part to change it back or there was no hope for the future,
for my daughter and her future children! In 2009 I joined one TEA Party
Group, helped start another, and created a “Sons of Liberty” group, all in
an effort to become active and engaged in the political process from the
conservative side. I actually became a street demonstrator and campaigned
for candidates! The election in 2010 showed us that we had the ability to
get Conservatives elected, to defeat Progressives and to begin to turn the
tide.

But I became frustrated with my local TEA Party groups that seemed content
just to blog and occasionally stand on street corners with flags and
placards, but were unwilling to DO very much to really change things, to
finish the job! That’s why I decided to launch a radio program dedicated to
educating, motivating and mobilizing the Patriots that are going to save
America from herself, from the self-destruction that Barack Hussein Obama
has led us into! “The Spirit of ’76 – Conservative Talk Radio for
God-fearing Patriots” launched on Monday, the 21st of November 2011 and, as
they say, “the rest is history!”

I have been married to my lovely wife Jill, for 19 years, I have a beautiful
33 year old daughter with a brand new PhD, who is working for the Graduate
School under the Golden Dome at Notre Dame. I retired from financial
planning 10 years ago, due to health problems, but I hope and pray that I
will stay healthy enough to make “The Spirit of ’76 Radio” program a strong
voice for liberty and freedom today, and with God’s help , we are going to
make a real difference in America!
