Video: Biden’s ‘Beast’ motorcade gets stuck in traffic at Queen’s funeral

Video emerged on Monday of President Joe Biden’s motorcade, nicknamed “the Beast,” becoming stuck in London traffic while driving to the memorial service for Queen Elizabeth II.

Telegraph political analyst Joe Armitage tweeted a video of Biden’s motorcade coming to a standstill near the Marble Arch in London.

As Biden’s motorcade slowly rounded the city corner, one man with a cell phone could be seen stepping up close to the motorcade before a police officer blew his whistle and pointed at him to back up.

According to the Daily Express, Biden’s team insisted on using the motorcade rather than boarding buses carrying other heads of state to the funeral service at Westminster Abbey on Monday. The other world leaders had reportedly agreed to forego their typical extensive personal security details and took the buses.

The Daily Mail reported President Biden and the First Lady were seated 14 rows back in the crowd behind other world leaders. According to the publication, Biden was seated directly behind Polish President Andrzej Duda and in front of Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala. Swiss President Ignazio Cassis was seated next to the Bidens.

Other members of European royal families and the King of Jordan were seated near the front during the funeral service. The Emperor and Empress of Japan were seated in the sixth row, still eight rows ahead of the Bidens.

The Daily Mail reported the Bidens left immediately after the funeral. Other world leaders again traveled to Windsor Castle for the burial service, which took place two hours later. Biden returned to the U.S. on Monday afternoon.
